Gifts of Cash
You may make your cash gift online by using your credit or debit card and clicking the donate button or mailing your check made payable to the Sisters of Mercy to the development office address listed below.
Tribute & Memorial Gifts
We invite you to honor your loved ones or a Sister of Mercy with a tribute or memorial gift to mark a special occasion or to express sympathy at the time of death. You may make your gift online by clicking the donate button or mailing your check to the development office address listed below. Please include the name of the honoree or deceased along with your gift and the name and address of the person to receive an acknowledgement.
You may be able to make a larger gift to support the Sisters of Mercy by spreading out your gift over time. You may make your donations monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually over the course of a year or longer. You may set up your recurring gift online by clicking the donate button or by mailing your gift with your instructions for reminders to our development office.
Gifts of Securities
Giving stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have appreciated in value may provide great tax savings by avoiding capital gains tax normally associated with the sale of such securities. You may also dispose of non-performing assets and deduct the loss, as well as receive a deduction for the amount of the cash contribution. Please contact our office for more information.
Many corporations have matching gift programs for their employees and retirees. Ask your Human Resources office if your company will match your gift to the Sisters of Mercy. Your office will provide you with the appropriate forms to send us along with your gift.
Planned or Legacy Gifts
Planned gifts to the Sisters of Mercy, West Midwest Community, Inc. are usually made in the context of the donor’s estate plans. These gifts include charitable bequests, trusts, insurance policies, charitable remainder trusts, and gift annuities. Donors who make such provisions are recognized as members of the Sisters of Mercy Legacy Society. We encourage you to discuss these options with your attorney, tax professional or financial planner. Please contact us if you have special gift restrictions or questions.
By donating your vehicle to the Sisters of Mercy, you can receive the wholesale value of your vehicle as a tax deduction while avoiding the possibility of receiving a low trade-in value from a dealer, or the anxiety and hassle of selling to a private party. Your vehicle will be picked up free of charge, sold at auction, and the proceeds will benefit the Sisters of Mercy West Midwest Community.
