Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy in 1831 in Dublin, Ireland. She and her sisters were "walking nuns" who sought to meet the needs of the poor, especially women and children. Her story has inspired thousands throughout the world. To read more about her, click here:
As a result of her inspiration and spiritual gifts, efforts are currently underway for Catherine McAuley's canonization. The Mercy community invites you to join in the efforts to declare Catherine a saint.

Sister Brigid O'Connell was recently in the Cedar Rapids area to visit family, friends and sisters during her winter break from her ministry. Brigid travels a distance for a visit as one of four sisters from the West Midwest Community who serve in a ministry overseas.
