In keeping true to our history, many of our Sisters continue to be involved in education and healthcare. In fact, our sponsored/co-sponsored/affiliated ministries include: four colleges and universities, nine high schools, a middle school, and eight hospital systems that are made up of numerous hospitals.
In addition, many of our Sisters and Associates are involved in ministries outside the sponsored Mercy institutions. They continue to serve and minister in: spirituality and retreat work; diocesan and pastoral services; peace and justice initiatives; parish ministry; religious and academic education at all levels; hospitals and healthcare services/facilities; literacy centers and programs; hospitality houses; nursing homes; social services; counseling services; transitional houses; foreign ministry work; prison ministry; long-term care facilities for the aged; and housing for families and elderly.

Sister Gloria Heese of Mime Ink in costume is shown here with Sister Elaine Lopez Pacheco. Mime Ink, explained as "a unique combination of written words and gestures that depeens meaning, touches hearts and promotes reflection", is just one example of the many ministries of our West Midwest sisters.
