From the time they set foot on American shores, Sisters of Mercy established institutions of learning. Prominent among these educational institutions are 18 colleges and universities in 12 states - four of which are associated with the WMW Community. Today Mercy higher education reaches 40,000 women and men.
Conference for Mercy Higher Education
The Conference for Mercy Higher Education (CMHE) was established in 2002 as the direct response to a needs assessment which surveyed the leadership of Mercy colleges and universities as well as the leadership of the sponsoring Sisters of Mercy Regional Communities. The creation of the Conference was a culmination of years of collaborative efforts.
CMHE exists to preserve and develop the core Catholic identity and mission of Mercy affiliated colleges and universities in accord with the spirit, mission and heritage of the Sisters of Mercy. The Conference serves as a resource and facilitator to bring a higher sense of collaboration and strength to all the Mercy-sponsored colleges and universities.
